LOIS PIERCE: As a community liaison, what I do is I try to let the community really know of the services that Ms. Lesher performs. Preplanning is essential because as people age and have diseases and different disabilities come on them, if you have something already set in place, then you have a plan. And you can react to any situation that might arise.
But this is what Ms. Lesher does is she arranges for the financial and for the medical care of adult children with disabilities. One of the most important things is helping people through this period of stress.
It's important for me to work in this field because I know the difficulties that people go through. I know how difficult it can be to manage these pitfalls. And I would not have managed them if my daughter hadn't been with me. My daughter is Christina Lesher.
